1-2-1 Pilates Training
Pilates - Building strength from the inside out following the Pilates method as developed by Joseph & Clara Pilates. Initially adopted by professional dancers in the US as an effective form of recovery after injury, Pilates has steadily grown in popularity around the world. Through the years the Pilates method naturally evolved and integrated current bio-mechanical thinking.
There's more to Pilates than developing "strong abs" or "core strength". Pilates is an exercise system that focuses on stretching and strengthening the whole body to improve balance, muscle-strength, flexibility and posture.
Sessions are typically on a 1-2-1 or 2-2-1 basis so that each session can be tailored for your specific needs/goals. Training is undertaken in the comfort and privacy of your own home.
You will discover new possibilities with Pilates through it's effectiveness and adaptability.
Pre & Post Natal - To assist both before and after baby arrives. Sessions are carried out on a 1-2-1 basis so that the exercises are tailored specifically to your needs.
Exercise is generally considered safe during pregnancy unless there have been any complications in previous pregnancies or your GP advises against exercise. If you have been undertaking Pilates exercises then you are considered safe to continue exercising during your first trimester. However, due to the variety of changes that occur it is natural to feel tired or nauseous and you might want to consider actively resting until you feel better. From the second trimester you might find you have more energy and want to actively exercise and the Pilates method conveys a number of health benefits:
- helps maintain and improve the condition of abdominal muscles
– strengthens pelvic floor muscles
– relieves strain on joints
– builds key muscles for rapid recovery
– increases energy
– decreases anxiety
– improves sleep
– reduces backache
– improves circulation
Use this time to prepare, strengthen, tone and support.

Pilates Classes - Reformer Pilates
1-2-1 Sessions are available on the Reformer machine. Using a reformer is unlike anything else. Pilates exercises on a reformer can be effectively targeted to increase the intensity of your workout. The Reformer gives you all the benefits of Mat Pilates and more. The pulleys and springs provide more resistance than you can achieve with just your body weight on a mat. The added resistance gives constant feedback, allowing you to feel the muscles in your body working through each movement.
